Supervision, Reflective Practice, Case Conferencing, Talking About Our Work - this is a widely used practice in Australia and parts of the U.S.  Julie and Therese's work has contributed greatly to the development of this new inception of Reflective Practice.  Join us for an evening of learning, validation, and enjoyment!

Therese has 19 years of experience as an Auslan/English Interpreter and is currently one of the Project Officers for the educational interpreter mentoring program in Victoria, Australia. Therese holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Auslan/English Interpreting from Macquarie University. She has co-presented a number of workshops for interpreters, primarily in the areas of health, educational interpreting and in relation to 
ethical decision making. Therese is currently an active participant in creating Reflective Practice opportunities for interpreters in Australia and encouraging diagnostic performance analysis. She also is a member of the Educational Interpreting Sub Committee for the Australian Sign Language Interpreters Association. Therese has served as a committee member for the local branch of the Australian Sign Language Interpreters’ Association in Victoria, and she is passionate about interpreting.

Julie 
is a practising Auslan/English professional level interpreter, with 27 years experience in the field. She holds a Bachelor of Education from LaTrobe University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Auslan/English Interpreting from Macquarie University. Julie is currently undertaking her Masters degree at Macquarie and is the Co-ordinator of the VDEI/ASLIA Vic mentoring program for ES staff who interpret in classrooms within Victoria, Australia. Julie has delivered several workshops and training opportunities to interpreters. Julie is currently assisting with the establishment of Reflective Practice opportunities for interpreters and providing diagnostic performance analysis to practitioners. Julie has previously served on the national and the state branch executive committee of the Australian Sign Language Interpreters Association and is committed to enhancing the quality of interpreting provision.
