Kendra Keller, CI/CT, M.S.

Kendra Keller is a freelance interpreter working in the greater bay area of California. Certified in 1994, she has served as adjunct faculty at Ohlone College Interpreter Preparation Program, the American Conservatory Theater’s Studio A.C.T., Humboldt State University, West Valley College, Cabrillo Community College, and San Jose State University. She has presented at the Supporting Deaf People international online conference, at Deaf Studies conference, and at the Conference of Interpreter Trainers. She has received training in the Demand Control Schema via the Mental Health Interpreter Training Institute in Montgomery, AL and as faculty of Ohlone College. She was co-coordinator of the 25 year anniversary conference of the Northern California RID chapter. She is a former student of The Juilliard School’s ‘Performance Interpreting’ training. Kendra is a mentor, teacher, consultant and workshop presenter.
Rosemary Wanis, M.S.W., M.A., CDIRosemary Wanis was born in Egypt to hearing parents. She immigrated with her parents, to Monterey, CA at the age of 9 months. At the age of 4 she was identified as being “hard of hearing” and started wearing hearing aids, receiving speech therapy, and attending private schools. She grew up in self-paced, auditory-verbal classrooms until going to California Baptist College in Riverside. There she started learning sign language, volunteering at California School for the Deaf, Riverside, and got her introduction to the beauty of the Deaf-World. After graduating with a BA Degree in Psychology, she went to Gallaudet University where she grew in her identity as a Deaf person and ASL became her beloved language. She obtained her Masters in Social Work and Masters in Administration & Supervision in 1998. After graduation she returned to California and worked as an advocate, coordinator of client services, and later an Executive Director at Deaf Service Agencies. Rosemary became a Certified Deaf Interpreter in 2005 and in 2014 became nationally certified as a trainer using the NCIEC Deaf Interpreter Curriculum. She currently works full time at Fresno State and is enrolled in the doctoral program in Educational Leadership. She will graduate in May, 2018. She lives in Clovis, CA with her beautiful daughter who is a proud CODA (future President of America and interpreter:).

Jeff Mosher, B.A., CDI
Certified in 2003, Jeff has a B.A. in ASL Studies. Jeff specializes in working in mental health and legal settings. Featured in the video "Demand Control Schema with Certified Deaf Interpreters" (CIT, 2008), Jeff has served as a role model and mentor for many interpreters. As a credentialed teacher in the K-12 setting, he also brings a great wealth of experience and background in child development, language development and conceptual accuracy to this work. |

Amy Peterson, M.S., CDI, ASLTA

Amy Peterson, M.S., works as a CDI in a variety of settings, including legal, mental health and medical. She has taught ASL for more than 15 years at universities, community colleges and in the community. She has been intensively trained in legal and mental health interpreting. Currently, Amy is the statewide coordinator for Deaf Services Community for the state of Georgia in the office of Mental Health – Deaf Services. She previously worked as communication specialist at Greil Memorial Psychiatric Hospital – Bailey Deaf Unit in Montgomery, Alabama. In that position, Amy utilizes her CDI skills to do communication assessments. With the communication assessment, one gains a greater understanding of language dysfluency and identifies fund of knowledge deficits. Amy’s expertise in using visual cues and simplifying complex issues is essential in this endeavor. Amy has presented workshops on American Sign Language, interpreting, Deaf culture/history and many more. She also has passion to raise the bar on expectations of interpreters especially in the education setting. Amy has been married to Jimmy for 24 years and has two girls who are also Deaf.
Christopher Tester, CDI

Christopher Tester is an American and British Sign Language interpreter and disability inclusion consultant. He is certified by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and holds Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI). He has eight years of professional experience as a former manager / trainer at Sorenson communications and as a special projects coordinator and investigator at the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights. A seasoned presenter, he specializes in workshop and seminar facilitation on topics (not limited to) disability rights and laws, Deaf and hard of hearing awareness, and American Sign Language and interpreting. He currently serves as President of the New York City Metro chapter of Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. Chris received his Bachelor’s degree at the College of the Holy Cross and his Professional Certificate from the Interpreter Education Program at LaGuardia Community College. He resides in Manhattan.
